Howling At The Moon

I've never felt like I was born with a silver spoon at all,
although I've felt like howling at the moon
 a lot of times!
Van Morrison

The full moon, the barbed wire, and the grasses all caught my eye.  Just a typical scene in my area, but quite easy to overlook.  I have a hard time capturing just how big those full moons look.

Cups of Blessings

Never lose an opportunity
of seeing anything that is beautiful;
for beauty is God's handwriting - a wayside sacrament.
Welcome it in every fair face,
in every fair sky, in every fair flower,
and thank God for it as a cup of blessing.
Ralph Waldo Emerson

old friends to trust, and old authors to read.
Francis Bacon

Our hope for years to come;
Be thou our guide while life shall last
And our eternal home.

wind braces us up, snow is exhilarating;
there is really no such thing as bad weather,
only different kinds of good weather.
~John Ruskin

Winter: Time For Home

Winter is the time for comfort,
for good food and warmth,
for the touch of a friendly hand
and for a talk beside the fire:
it is the time for home.
