Which came first?
Easter or the Egg?
Three days in a tomb or three days in Palm Springs?
When is a stone not a stone?
When it is rolled away.
(This is from memory. I have no idea where I read it or
who the author is, but I've never forgotten it.)
Happy Easter to you and yours!
ReplyDeleteOut of interest I tried tracing it (as no doubt you have done). I couldn't find anything but you might be interested in this - "In England, Germany and some other countries, children rolled eggs down hills on Easter morning to symbolize the rolling away of the stone from Jesus’ tomb. British settlers brought this custom to the New World. In 1814" (http://www.umc.org/site/apps/nlnet/content.aspx?c=lwL4KnN1LtH&b=5847613&ct=9358233)
